We can't believe it's already time for us to begin registering our students for courses for next year! The first step in understanding course options is attending our Parent University, which will be Thursday, January 26th at 6 pm at Buford. The rising 9th grade students and their parents will meet in the auditorium with counselors and staff from CHS. Rising 7th and 8th grade students and parents will meet in the Media Center for a Buford orientation. The Curriculum Fair will be held in classrooms adjacent to the Media Center. CATEC will conduct demonstrations in the Alpha Lab (Engineering). Rising 9th grade students (current 8th graders) heard a presentation from the CHS counselors on Tuesday, January 24th. The counselors will return on February 16th and 17th to meet individually with students to select their courses. Students should complete their course registration worksheet (to be distributed on February 6th) and bring it with them to their meeting with the counselor. The registration worksheet is attached below, along with the link for the CCS Program of Study that includes descriptions of all course offerings. Families may want to review the requirements for standard diplomas and advanced study diplomas to become familiar with what will be required for graduation. Rising 8th grade students were provided our registration information on Tuesday, January 24th to help them choose their electives. Students can complete this online form at home to select their elective choices. Teachers will make recommendations for their academic courses. See the Course Request worksheet below. Rising 7th grade students received a registration worksheet during classroom guidance with their school counselor, Mr. K. Students will complete their elective requests online in February. See the worksheet below for rising 7th grade options.
