Middle school is an exciting and challenging time! School counselors are a valuable resource for students, parents, and school staff in a variety of ways. As school counselors, we strive to meet the needs of all students in the areas of academic planning, college/career planning and awareness, and personal/social issues. We can provide information about graduation requirements, courses, academic and career plans, colleges, as well as personal and social concerns that impact middle school students at home and at school.
Our Mission
The mission of the Counseling Department at Buford Middle School is to create a safe and supportive atmosphere that ensures all students are personally and academically successful in school.
As advocates for students we will collaborate with others and provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate counseling program through academic, personal/emotional and career counseling. We will meet the diverse needs of our student population and assist all students in becoming life-long learners, responsible citizens, and productive contributors to society.
All students have the potential to be successful in spite of challenges. We believe in providing a nurturing atmosphere that fosters expectations of high levels of achievement even when others do not believe in the students’ potential to succeed.
